Meeting Place for the Powertrain Community | Hybrid Event

9th International Engine Congress 2022

You have the choice: participate on site or virtually via live stream.
Due to the current situation created by Covid-19, the "9th International Engine Congress 2022" will take place as a hybrid event this year.

Not only battery-electric but also thermodynamic powertrains are imperative for the implementation of the mobility turnaround and the global reduction of CO2 emissions. Largely hybridised and powered by hydrogen and synthetic fuels from renewable sources, they make an important contribution both to the huge global fleet of over 1.3 billion vehicles and to new vehicles. The powertrains of new vehicle generations will also have to rely on this proven technology for decades to come in order to be able to meet the steadily increasing global mobility needs in a climate-friendly way. The International Engine Congress as a knowledge forum and industry meeting place for engine development addresses the entire system of engine technology: from energy generation to energy storage to energy conversion. With its unique concept, it brings together the current technological state of knowledge of the entire system of non-fossil fuels and internal combustion engines and their holistic evaluation with regard to climate protection. It is thus the central, practice-oriented platform for the exchange of knowledge and suitable systemic strategies for meeting the Paris and Glasgow climate targets.

More than ever before, climate protection is at the center of the social, political, and industrial discussion in our economies. A major contribution must be made by abandoning fossil fuels, which are currently the world’s dominant source of energy, as quickly as possible.

Hydrogen and synthetic fuels based on biomass and electricity offer excellent potential for quickly transferring the existing infrastructure, together with the billions of vehicles and machines that use internal combustion engines, to a defossilized world. In the mobility sector, the internal combustion engine running on non-fossil fuels is not in competition with all-electric drive systems.

Main topics

  • Climate-friendly internal combustion engines from a global perspective
  • Internal combustion engines and fuels as a complete system:
    CO2 neutrality, emissions, electrification
  • The use of hydrogen and synthetic fuels
  • Cross-sector life cycle considerations

Panel discussion: The internal combustion engine in regenerative energy sytems of the future

Participate virtually via live stream

The streaming package includes all keynote, impulse, and plenary presentations as well as the panel discussion and all presentations of the parallel sessions “passenger car engine technology”, “commercial vehicle engine technology” and “sustainable fuels & energy”.

Choose the live stream in the registration form at a price of EUR 995.00 plus VAT and experience the lectures corona-safe from your office.

This event is primarily aimed at engineers and technicians in the industry or persons involved in research and teaching who are engaged in the optimization of the traditional development areas of the combustion engine or the advancement of procedures and systems to produce conventional or renewable fuels and lubricants. The lectures will be equally attractive for chemists and biologists who work in this industry. The focus will be on both diesel and spark-ignition engines (gasoline / gas) for passenger and commercial vehicles and off-highway applications.

ATZlive conferences in times of Corona

In order to ensure that the ATZlive conferences are safe and successful for all participants, even in times of Corona, we have drawn up a wide-ranging hygiene protection concept and are making detailed arrangements with the event partners.

The hygiene protection concept is based on the SARS-CoV-2 industrial safety standard of the German federal government and on the official requirements, which can vary from state to state.Of course, we will provide sufficient protective measures on site and adhere to a concept for contactless check-in, seating with a safe distance, keeping a distance during breaks and catering, disinfection facilities, etc.

We are adapting to the current pandemic situation. If a real meeting at the conference date is not possible, you can experience the entire conference in our virtual conference module.
