16th International MTZ Congress "Powertrains and Energy Systems of Tomorrow” | Hybrid-Event
You have the choice: participate on site or virtually via live stream.
Due to the current situation created by Covid-19, the congress Powertrains and Energy Systems of Tomorrow 2022 will take place as a hybrid event this year.
The technological transformation in individual mobility on the basis of regenerative primary energy requires an intensified technical exchange of ideas between leading representatives of the automotive and energy industry on the one hand and science and politics on the other. For that reason, this congress will focus on topics that not only describe the change in vehicle powertrains, but also present technological solutions in the associated infrastructure, including the provision of primary energy. Discussions will concentrate on political framework conditions as well as on systemic innovations for the future and digital solutions.
Perfect interaction between traffic concepts, vehicles with sustainable powertrains, and infrastructure is the prerequisite for market success. In order to provide participants with space for an interdisciplinary dialogue, the formerly independent ATZlive conferences “The Powertrain of Tomorrow” and "Grid Integration + Electrified Mobility” will take place as a joint congress from this year onwards. Participants will have the opportunity to move freely between the parallel strands of lectures with their usual technical depth, thus broadening their perspective. In this way, we are supporting interdisciplinary communication and the necessary systemic approach.
The defossilization of energy systems and transport toward renewable electricity-based solutions is the core challenge in climate protection. Fully electric and electrified drives are at the heart of future mobility. This can only be successfully implemented in close cooperation between the automotive and energy industries and policymakers.
A future global powertrain mix must systemically address the challenge of a sustainable and secure supply and distribution of energy. What is needed is an approach that is open to all technologies and considers energy resources and converters throughout the entire process. Only by shaping the technology discussion as a “not only, but also” approach towards nextgeneration engines in a sustainable energy system will it be possible to leverage the potentials for a targeted reduction in
global CO2. The perfect interaction between traffic concepts, vehicles with sustainable powertrains, and infrastructure is the prerequisite for market success.

In order to ensure that the ATZlive congresses are safe and successful for all participants, even in times of Corona, we have drawn up a wide-ranging hygiene protection concept and are making detailed arrangements with the event partners.
The hygiene protection concept is based on the SARS-CoV-2 industrial safety standard of the German federal government and on the official requirements, which can vary from state to state.Of course, we will provide sufficient protective measures on site and adhere to a concept for contactless check-in, seating with a safe distance, keeping a distance during breaks and catering, disinfection facilities, etc.
We are adapting to the current pandemic situation. If a real meeting at the congress date is not possible, you can experience the entire congress in our virtual congress module.
A trade exhibition of interesting suppliers and service providers rounds off the congress and provides the opportunity to find out about innovations on site.
