Call for Papers
It will not be feasible to implement electrification across the board in the heavy-duty sector. This makes the need to find and develop climate-neutral alternative fuels for internal combustion engines all the more urgent. New free trade agreements are further expanding the range of possible alternatives, and once again the focus is increasingly on biogenic fuels, particularly in agriculture. However, the use of alternative sources of energy often requires far-reaching modifications to the powertrain ̶ from the fuel supply and, if necessary, fuel detection system, to mixture formation, combustion, and exhaust gas aftertreatment. The variety of possibilities and practical solutions for implementation will be examined at the upcoming "Heavy-Duty Engines" conference.
This MTZ conference will provide an opportunity for engine developers and designers of commercial vehicles, mobile machinery, stationary systems, and marine engines to gain information on the very latest developments. The 21st conference will be supplemented by a tour of the Robert Bosch AG plant in Hallein.
On behalf of the Scientific Advisory Board, I cordially invite you to present the latest research and development results of your company/institute. Details for your presentation submission can be found in this Call for Papers. We are looking forward to your participation.

Are you interested in presenting a paper on one of these subjects on the “Heavy-Duty Engines 2026”?
We are pleased that you would like to submit a proposal (please submit documents in PDF) online via this portal. After registration, you will be asked to provide the following data:
- The title of the paper
- The name of the speaker with job title, company address, telephone number and e-mail address
- The name of any co-authors with company address
- The main points and a brief summary of the paper’s contents (abstract)
- Brief summary of the innovative value of the work
- Classification under one of the main subject areas
On the basis of the short version of the paper, the Scientific Advisory Board for the conference will decide on its acceptance.
Please register and use our online proposal submission form.
